WEN goes to the Bitterroot River

The Bitterroot River begins it northward journey at Lost Trail Pass at the Montana-Idaho border. Farther north, the Bitterroot's east fork joins the mainstem's journey north from the Sapphire Mountains. Once in the Bitterroot Valley, the river flows wide through Darby, Hamilton, and Lolo, Montana, eventually joining the Clark Fork River just west of Missoula.

Schools that visit the Bitterroot River: C.S.PORTER MIDDLE SCHOOL (at Fort Missoula), LOLO MIDDLE SCHOOL 7th graders (at the Missoula Wastewater Treatment Plant)

See PICTURES from the field and a special Bitterroot Photo Page.

Please share your ideas, pictures, and stories about the Bitterroot River with WEN by emailing Brooke, or writing them down and sending them via snail mail to the WEN office.
