Watershed Education Network presents Wetlands Workshops and Education

WEN has hosted wetland workshops for teachers in summers past. Workshops last three days and include both classroom and field components. Activities include: Introduction to Wetlands Teachers' Trunk, What is a Wetland?, Different Types of Wetlands, Riparian and Wetland Plant Species and Adaptations, Wetland Walk and Journaling, Wetland Ecology, Wetland Soils, Bird Watching and Identification with Naturalist Charles Miller, and Aquatic Invertebrate Discovery and Identification.

WEN is finalizing a wetlands guidebook, which will be available for purchase early this winter. The WEN-produced video Refuge: Urban Wetlands of Missoula (filmed and edited by Ron Scholl) is available for check-out and limited distribution by calling the office at 541-9287.

For more information about WEN's wetland activities or to be on our email list for next year's workshop, please call the office.
